And the police does nothing
Sunday, May 24 in Peter R. de Vries, crime reporter: reports on convicted swindlers who steal from one after another entrepreneur. The police get the swindlers on a silver plate, but does absolutely nothing.
Motor Theft
A motorcycle dealer from Soesterberg get mid-January a visit by a man who is interested in a very expensive Suzuki motorcycle. They agree that the customer, who already left a copy of his license, returns for a test drive later that week. In the meantime, the motorcycle dealer discovers that the same man who in 2004 hired a motorcycle, never came back. For which he was convicted. Now, five years later, this man comes back to test drive a motorcycle.
The motorcycle dealer gives Peter R. de Vries a call. They decide to play out the game to see if the man tries to steal another motorcycle from the same store. The Suzuki is fitted with a “track and trace” system, so that movements of the motorcycle can be followed.
The customer returns on the Soesterberg. After signing the form, he takes the motorcycle with a value of 16,000 euro to never to return. A spectacular undercover operation reveals how the stolen motorcycles is driven to Rotterdam.
Idiots
Immediately after the theft the motorcycle dealer hands over all the information about the swindlers to the police, but they appear not interested …
Motorcycle dealer: “I have a problem. The same man that five years a go stole a motorcycle from my store, did it again”
Police: “Did you write a letter to the thief?”
Motorcycle dealer: “I tried to call him, but he didn’t answer his phone”
Police: “But did you write him a letter?”
Motorcycle dealer: “No, I had an agreement that he would return the bike yesterday”
Police: “I don’t know what to do next. (Cop #2) You must send a letter which must be signed by the thief”
Motorcycle dealer: “What?”
Police: “Okay, okay, Let’s start. What is your name?”
Motorcycle dealer “John Smith”
Police: “You have an unpaid fine! You have to pay right now or you will go to jail for a few days”
You got to be kidding me. I think NWA said it best.
